The year of iPad 2? Or perhaps Honeycomb? Image of the week

This week we have experienced the launch of the iPad 2, the new tablet from Apple, to tell the truth, not has meant a complete revolution, if not rather a set of small improvements to maintain the hegemony that the first model has had over the past months in the world of the tablets.

But this year will be different. iPad 2 will compete with Android Honeycomb, and more specifically with gadgets like Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, MSI Windpad 100A, LG Optimus Pad or others that will come in the next few months. The competition this year will be tough and Apple will have difficulties to maintain the same numbers as other years. Or not?

iPad 2 still has the same characteristics as the first model: a device very fast, very efficient, easy to use and, above all, with a little Apple drawn on the back, something that in recent years is very fashionable. Call marketing, or as you want, but that is the reality. The iPad 2 aims to be the tablet of the 2011, happening the success of the first iPad.

But that does not mean that other interesting tablets there are. android 3 honeycomb was presented at CES as a revolution in the Google system but focused on their use in tablets. An interface fully renovated, very different and ready for use in gadgets of big screens, and not on Pocket telephones. If the system we put interesting devices as any of the tablets presented in MWC 2011 both CES 2011, the experience that will bring the user will be excellent.

2011 will be the year of the second generation of tablets, a year where Apple has been that competition is ready to deal with at the gates of Cupertino, at least on devices. The prices of the Honeycomb tablets does not appear that they can actually compete with iPad 2, which can be a great burden for Google's system. In about nine or ten months we will draw conclusions on this particular - and very interesting - war.

And no, we don't forget the other tablets: Blackberry PlayBook and HP TouchPad are very interesting, but minority and uncertain. We are them not to lose sight, of course.
