ASUS updates its portable K-Series with new Intel processors and graphics Nvidia Geforce GT500

Asus K-Series

Asus has announced the renewal of its range of portable K-Series, a family of large equipment for multimedia and gaming in diagonals of 15.6 and 17.3-inch that combine a good power with a very reasonable price.

But outside they are very similar to the first K-Series at the end of 2009, the new K-series includes processors Intel Core of second-generation Huron River, a family of 32-nanometer chips based on the Intel Sandy Bridge architecture and that incorporates support for WiMax or Blu-Ray 3D among other features.

In addition to renew processors, Asus also raises the bar for the pie, with models of the nvidia geforce gt500series. The more powerful model available for the K is the GT540 Geforce, with 2 GB dedicated DDR3 memory. The use of the Platform nvidia optimus promises a good battery performance, although the Taiwanese still has not revealed specific specifications.

Available in aluminium silver or with a touch of Brown, the new K-Series also incorporate some details of comfort, such as the reposamuñecas cooling system IceCool or a new system, called PalmProof, which prevents that we accidentally manipulemos the touchpad with the hand or wrist.

The K-Series will be available during this month of March and their prices ranging between 550 and 750 euros depending on the model and the internal configuration.
