Google y ARM

Google is moving their chips in a very interesting direction. Those in Mountain View are driving standardization of Android 3.0 and it is said that even they are negotiating with ARM to implement a standardization of the operating system with a view to this architecture of processors.

Standardization means several things. On the one hand it means removing the current obstacles to upgrade from one version to another on ARM platforms, alleviating one of the big buts of Android, fragmentation. The process will also allow to the developers work with more security and stability on Android and reduce their time to get new applications.

The standardization of the Platform Android 3.0 Google responds to several reasons. The first is as simple as improving the interface of user in the face of the hardware. The second is to put an end to the problem of applications. Although there are more than 250,000 applications available in the android market, very few are optimized to run on Android 3.0 and its devices, tablets with much larger than a mobile screens.

Google y ARM

Another of the 'advantages' of standardization is that it will allow Android risk and eliminate the possibility that other manufacturers installed and sold equipment Android on their own . Google is especially interested in avoiding that Honeycomb will installed in mobile phones. Of course, the fact that part of the code is open is a problem that Google will have to resolve on the way to the creation of an operating system as Windows 7 can be.

It is still early to assess the real impact of negotiation between Google and ARM, but it is clear that the Mountain View long ago they changed their so-called motto 'Don' t be evil' (don't be málvado) by 'Do what you have to do'.
