Lately we talked more about tablets to netbooks, somewhat influenced by the amount of news that appear, but that doesn't mean that they look from time to time by the network different proposals that deserve a space on our website. This is the case of the last of Hercules.

A couple of netbooks under the name Hercules eCAFE they come onto the market, and counted as most striking feature the use of a chipset Freescale i.MX515based on ARM Cortex A8. Both models have screens of 10.1 inches, and it is the first time that we have such great devices for Freescale processors.

We have two models, the Slim HD and HD EX, which are designed very particular as you can see in the images that accompany the story. The keyboard is slightly submerged under the line forming two sidebars, in a way that the screen is within that space to the fold.

The main difference between the models is that the HD EX has HDMI output, 16 GB of internal memory (8 GB Slim HD model), an internal slot for SD cards (comes with 8 GB additional), and a battery of higher dimensions which also determines their weight and size.

Common features are its 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, WiFi connectivity n, a webcam of 0.3 megapixel camera, a miniUSB, and three USB 2.0 ports. Anything to get out of the ordinary in what we can expect from a netbook with ARM architecture.

The resolution of the screen's 10.1 inches is 1024 × 600 pixels, and Hercules he assures us that the computer has power to play video in format 720 p without problems, the following standards are supported: DivX, Xvid, H.264, and MKV.

Following specifications, we have the Slim HD model weighs 880 grams, with a battery 2400mAh, which gives you a range of 4.5 hours of use. The eCAFÉ EX HD weighs 1.27 kg by using a battery of 6. 800mAh, which gives you a range of up to 13 hours.

None of Android on this occasion, the people of Hercules has decided to customize a Linux distribution that we fail to recognize, but that we are confident that we can change by any other compatible in the case that it does not meet our needs.

In some media comment that this eCAFÉ Netbook Edition could be a modified version of Ubuntu Netbook Edition. The system has a compatible with Microsoft Office suite.

The price with that will come out to the market is less than the of a netbook Intel, as expected, the Slim HD model is available at 229 dollars, while the eCAFÉ EX HD is going to $269. Both will appear this month of April.

In spite of a different design, and a not very high price, not term to find the site to such developments, the first because the hardware does not seem strong enough with respect to what we can find in competition, and the possibilities of your operating system, unknown to us, and who can not stand up to the ecosystem that propose us devices Android or iOS.
