It is curious to see how in the past few years is trying to look for parallelization, at least where the hardware is concerned. The time of the mononúcleo microprocessor already considered the past, and we have entered an era in which does not seem that end there is. 2, 4 And 6 cores models are already present in the market, in some cases with hyperthreading. And 8 cores CPUs soon.

As well as facing the autumn months, i.e. from the end of the month of September. Will be Intel who will launch them to the Sandy Bridge ep platform (sometimes also called Sandy Bridge E) high performance, which will be a step above the current Sandy Bridge. We have already mentioned some of the EP and of the future chipset Intel Z68, which will be used the new platform.

More specific technical specifications on the new processor Intel 8 cores are still uncertain. It is quite likely to include hyperthreading, which we would be talking about 16 thread process which would see the operating system, a real lot. It would also be logical that they had not integrated GPU, at these levels it would be a complete waste. Surely talk about a top range, an heiress on the current CPU Core i7 - 990 X but under the new Sandy Bridge epmicroarchitecture.

Intel Core i7 Extreme boxWhat else to add? The world is crazy. The hardware is moving at a speed that the software can not stand. We talk about processors of multiple cores, which programmes which we cannot take advantage more in a minimal part.

The future, and not he is the first time that I say this, because the software fully take advantage of the hardware on which it is based. Models such as the own 990 X or the future new 8 cores only are used in full by the professional sector, whose applications are well designed and programmed for parallelization.

While it is well know where is the limit on the market. They are now 6 cores, and soon they will be 8, but surely the vast majority of us will continue with a 4-cores at home. Isn't it? And worst of all is that it will continue to not be fully utilized.
