Samsung LCD transparente

We are not going to discover anything if we say that Samsung is one of the leaders in the market of screens and in the development of their technologies. The Korean company is responsible for in addition to advertise it in the different technological events that occurs.

Sometimes in commercial products, others in the form of prototype to dazzle the staff, this is the case of flexible displays, and the transparent which showed over the past year.

Samsung has decided to bring to production a transparent screen, a 22-inch LCD panel with 1680 × 1050 pixel resolution. There will be two versions, one color and one black and white, with a 15-20% transparency respectively.

From the point of view of consumption, Samsung advises that the screens they need 10% of the energy used by a conventional LCD, because somehow it takes advantage of the ambient light (I guess that a good lighting is required). Other interesting values are their levels of contrast, 500: 1, HDMI, and ports USB.

Curious that Samsung has decided to take advantage of this technology in a screen of considerable dimensions, and not one of their most powerful departments, on mobile devices. We remind you that sony ericsson already placed on the market a phone with a similar screen, the Xperia Pureness.

Samsung also has transparent panels in the oven, but instead of LCD as that here, with technology AMOLED, but for this still todavía queda is quite some time, for now I leave you with some videos:
