Philips Fidelio SoundSphere

Yesterday we spent all day in Barcelona, knowing first hand news from Philips for this year. Of the handful of new devices, one of which most has drawn us attention are these speakers philips fidelio soundsphere.

The most posts on the subject will recall the Philips Soundsphere MCi-900, curious loudspeakers accompanying a small breeding season we saw in the IFA 2010. philips fidelio soundsphere retake the same technology of dispersion of sound in 360 degrees, but this time for any Apple device, from the iPod to the iPhone, iPad or their computers, all this thanks to the wireless Apple Airplay.

The set of the fidelio soundsphere consists of two towering loudspeakers of rounded design and a simply spectacular sound. Together with them we find a dock whose presence is explained only so that we can keep the iPod or iPhone charging, because in reality it is not necessary for the connection.

Philips Fidelio SoundSphere

Wireless Apple's AirPlay is responsible for sending signal to these speakers through any device with iTunes and WiFi iTunes. The procedure for the connection, which already know Apple fans, can not be more tontorrón. You simply get to House, looking for fidelio soundsphereloudspeakers, give it to the play and enjoy.

Although Philips has not detailed the real power of these new speakers, its sound quality is really good, deep, warm and full of nuances. Like the first generation SoundSphere , the curious ubicacióln of Twitter, on the serious cones pointing upwards, enables disperse the sound evenly to its around. Gives equal that we give back to the speaker, or get back, sound does not change one iota.

Philips Fidelio SoundSphere

philips fidelio soundsphere will arrive in stores in may at a price of 799 euros and, despite its price, have little to envy to rather more expensive Hi-Fi equipment. Without a doubt, one of the stars of the new catalogue of the Dutch.

AMD Bulldozer will not be backwards compatible: Hello AM3 +

AM3 AM3+ Sockets

One of the most active rumors in recent weeks speaks of the expected backward compatibility for Bulldozer processors AMD with sockets current, referring more specifically to the AM3 using almost all plates base of these platforms. Expected AMD to offer this compatibility due to the great history that the manufacturer has written, with new products that can be used on platforms of at least a generation ago.

But all indications are that this traditional backward compatibility will be broken with the Bulldozer, because they require the use of the new socket AM3 +. The more technical features are still unknown, but not physically serve. End, the discussion is over.

The reasons that AMD can give are still uncertain, but it seems to be confirmed unofficially since the manufacturer himself, more specifically in the words of one of its managers, John Fruehe, director of product marketing.

Although it will not be backward compatibility to old sockets (i.e., Bulldozer will not work on AM3 and earlier, if not only in AM3 +) it may install on AM3 + current processors designed for AM3. Confusing? Yes, the truth is that a bit.

Caterpillar Bulldozer

Another aspect to take into account is that there are motherboards with AM3 + Bulldozer but with the current AMD 800 Series chipsets, and surely they will be the first to appear on the market. A few months - or weeks - it will later be when we will see the AMD 900 Series chipsets in action. From my point of view it is best to wait long enough to bet on the next generation, as large and very good improvements on previous models are.

And all this time? In 2011 for sure, but there are many contradictory rumor and there is nothing official, much less, but it is expected that it be sufficiently soon to counter the great attack on the Intel Core 2nd Gen.

PS: the world of the bulldozers, and more generally of all industrial machinery, is exciting.
